Hi,
Marc has kept his promise and sent me a new vgetty release before the end
of the year (hooray!).
I have just compiled it on SCO ODT 3.0 and SunOS 4, Marc has compiled it
on Linux, and compiling it works really nicely. From that sentence you can
guess my next one -- I didn't try it at all, and Marc did only do some
limited extent of testing (he doesn't own all the supported voice modems).
So, if you feel brave, and have some spare days between the years, charge
ahead, get mgetty099-Dec31.tar.gz from ftp.leo.org, compile, and test
it on your machine...
gert
PS: If you don't have an ANSI C compiler, don't expect it to compile. I
have seen a few ANSIisms in the code that Marc's gcc didn't tell him about.
But it would be nice to see what happens, though.
PS2: please send all comments to the list (mgetty@muc.de) or to Marc
(eberha@physik.tu-muenchen.de), *NOT* *TO* *ME*, as I do not maintain
vgetty. Only if this release breaks mgetty, please tell me so!
PS3: For the even braver :) ... expect some callback stuff to try some
time next week...
