<< Personally I thought we were paying our tithes to God through his
 representative .

We do pay our Tithes to God by giving it to in the old testiment the Priestly
office of Levi and in the new testiment the 5 fold ministry. That is the way
God provides for the upkeep of the ministry.

At least it does say that the tithes belong to the Lord .
The first fruits of all the increase of our household and every male that
openeth the womb (first born) wether man or beast.

There again the subject is the Priesthood that the man introduced. That is
the reason that Paul recorded it like this, "But he whose descent is not
counted from them received tithes of Abraham" whose descent counted" and
blessed him that had the promises. And without all contradiction the less is
blessed of the better." The reason here that Melchizedek is referred as
greater is simply because of the Priesthood that he represented in type and
shadow. He had a Mother and Father but it didn't have anything to do with the
type and shadow of the Priesthood that Jesus would one day fulfill, seeing
that Jesus sprang from Judah and His descent did not count either.

As far as Melchizideck being a man....Well it also says that he was without
mother and without father so thus he would could not be begotten ( born )
and thus not conflicting with the only begotten status .

It means what it says as for as the metaphor goes, you have to apply all of
this to the Priesthood of Melchizedek of which Jesus is our Priest
continually. The Priesthood here with Jesus as our Priest fits this picture
perfectly.

Unless you say that it does not mean what it says.
There is one God with one begotten (created through birth of the flesh) son
which is the only true now permenantly existing body that God dwells in.
 All theophany's were temporary.

Jesus Christ will be forever. (Our Priest after the order of Melchizedk)
Though he (the flesh) had a beginning (only begotten) it will never have
 and end.
THis is not dualism or trinitarianism ...... >>

Only attempting to shed some light from this direction, God Bless.
