Hi Anneliese,
We are in southern Mississipi so we dont have quite the extreme temps as
some of you.
We still have a tomato plant blooming , which is rare even here at this
time of year.
In answer to your question our "back porch" is a fairly large room that is
wood plank wall half way up and screened up the rest of the way. It is
large enough that we have a spare refrigerator , our freezer, and our
outdoor grill out there with room to spare.
We positioned the heater in a way that the animals could not have access to
the electrical cord, (in case of chewing).
It is a dry place , out of the wind , with a concrete floor, and with the
heater available they can get as close to it or as far away as they
wish.(there is a protective guard)
The puppies and kittens are doing better and eat and sleep in the same area
together, often eating out of the same bowl.
The puppies are doing so well in fact that they are just a tad too frisky
for the kittens which are much younger and sicker.
Unfortunately I cannot keep cats in the house (well, not any animal for
that matter), My husband is totally against that , but is perfectly willing
to take them in giving them the next best available space.
I did go ahead and give the kittens a small dose of kitty worm medicine
last night and they seemed very well this morning. (crying very adamantly
for their morning milk).
The one kitten "SHerbert" has a slight occasional cough, and they do tend
to stay close to the heater when not eating or "doing" their business.
I may have to take him to a Vet if he does not get over it soon, I had
thought with warmth, and better nutrition they might recover on their own.
Thank you for asking about them.
God Bless.
Lynna
