SAVE THE COMMANDMENTS: COUNTY VOTES TO GIVE THE TEN
COMMANDMENTS PROMINENCE IN THEIR GOVERNMENT BUILDING
AND COURTHOUSE.
County commissioners in Danville, Indiana recently
voted to give the Ten Commandments a place of
prominence in their government building and
courthouse. This step draws us back to the Biblical
Christian roots upon which the United States was
built and reflected in the words “IN GOD WE TRUST”
found on our U.S. currency.
George Hall of the Christian Family Association said
the Ten Commandments represent universal law. This
position is the biblical cornerstone for Seventh-day
Adventist Christian Church which for over 100 years
has been presenting the Christian appeal to return to
the biblical moral law or Ten Commandments.
In contradiction to the Ten Commandments, mainstream
Christian churches have set aside this moral
standard, by replacing the tradition of Sunday
worship (first day of the week) for worship on the
Sabbath day (Saturday or the Seventh-day of the week).
Much credit is to be given to the Roman Catholic
Church who is numerous scholarly works have presented
this biblical challenge to protestants since the days
of the reformation.
Seventh-day Adventists hope that these tremendous
steps to bring the Ten Commandments back to the
forefront of thought, will also promote increased
study and adherence to the precepts contained within
the biblical scriptures.
