I live about a 70 miles from Bro Joe Jarvis, and there is indeed a
large group here in the Midwest called the "Apostolic Christian
Church." They are definitely trinitarian and non-pentecostal. They
keep standards of holiness and the women wear a veil. Another practice
includes having all the men sit on one side of the church and the
women on the other side. They have *long* church services on Sunday
mornings, a big potluck in the church after the morning service, then
continue on with church in the afternoon. From what I hear, services
are majorly dull.
The Apostolic Christian Church has a web page with a statement of faith
at:

One of the local Christian bookstores is owned by a member of this
Apostolic Christian congregation; they require all female employees to
wear long skirts.
A lot of Amish and Mennonites live around here too -- a group of them
will hire out a van driver on a weekend and they'll all shop at
Wal-Mart.
Also in this area is the Crusader church; they split off from the
Nazarenes when that particular denomination dropped holiness
standards. The people who attend Crusaders are indistinguishable from
UPC people around here as far as physical appearance goes.
Apostolic is also a name claimed by the Roman Catholic Church. We
don't hear it much here in the U.S., but in South American the Catholic
Church is known as the Apostolic church. When I and others first
started the #apostolic channel on Undernet a couple of years ago, I
urged for the use of a name besides apostolic, and the name "apostolic"
has indeed been cause of a little confusion as people in the .mx domain
come expecting to talk about the latest Marion apparitions (or
whatever). It has also presented witnessing opportunities, so that's
good.
