Zondervan forgot to mention that Lavey's Church of Satan (there
are others) has a deliberatly humanistic philosophy. To Lavey
and his followers, Satan is not an actual being, but a philosophy,
a way of life, a religion.

I think it's fascinating that an atheist such as Lavey openly equated
humanism with Satanism.

I was a acquainted with a Church of Satan priest here in Champaign.
A short time ago, he thanked me for witnessing to me, for being a
light to his life, and he told me that he gave his life to Christ.
I expressed surprise and happiness and asked him where he was going
to church.

He's going to one of the local Catholic churches. Oh. I told him
that I'd pray for him.

  *sigh*
