Dear Sis. Kim
I also work in a long term care facility. I have worked in the same facility for seven years. I often here staff refer to deaths happening in threes and wonder out loud who will be next after two have died. It makes me wonder if the power of suggestion causes us to think that way and see death in threes. Our facility has seven units. If staff cannot come up with three on our unit they will try to remember someone from another unit that passed recently.
Take notice when it seems as though a group of three have passed: are there long lapses between deaths. Also how many times does it *not* happen in threes.
Pick the number 4, if you looked for it you could propaply find death in groups of four.
I do not think there is really any more logic to the death in threes as there is if we believed a black cat running across our path would bring us bad luck and then something we term as* bad* happens.
