I retired from the US Air Force (20 years 5momths and 25days) and  I
now work for the Department Of Veteran Affairs (VA).

Somebody has posted help with this. While I was in basic training I
had to attend the AF Chapel and we sang this Hymn. I had a lot of
trouble singing this and staying "civil". God visited me during some
of these times and it is difficult to be between God and the world. I
now think God did more for me during this time than any other time of
my life. When you are out in the desert with no help, you learn how to
survive. Once I learned that Jesus was still with me I knew that I was
going to survive. (And yes I wondered for a while. I thought I was
backslid. Then Jesus spoke to me and said "I never left you.)
