Dear Erika,
I used to have the same problem, but when I upgraded my modem, it only
takes about 1-2 minutes to receive 60 messages.
The way a listserv works is that someone mails to the server, that in turn
distributes the mail to *everyone* listed as an active member of that list.
There really isn't a practical way to filter such messages.
I agree that some things should be sent via private mail, but as for the
one you listed, I would have to disagree that it should be private because
I was one of those people who wrote on I Cor. 14:26, even if my name wasn't
specifically mentioned in the post. Therefore, I would be interested in
its contents.
I hope this helps,
Anneliese

Etc., etc. These type of messages don't apply to everyone on the list,
and thus crowds our mailboxes. I personally have a slow modem, and it's
