After reading all these threads, I have found points I agree with and
points I disagree with. Personally I don't believe that a woman was
to be a preacher in the beginning, this dating from the tabernacle in
the wilderness to now. But I have seen so many times that a man
would refuse to go to a area to preach or just teach, so God called a
woman. I am more critical when evaluating women's ministers, but I have seen
several over the years that were mightly used of GOd and
I would be glad to sit under them as a member of a church.
When I have seen a woman pastor marry or remarry after the death of
her husband. I have always seen them give up the church either to their
new husband, or to another minister entirely. Usually they moved on
to a different church as not to cause hard feelings. But it was also
in God's will at the time.
Also in how many of the churches of America (including our own and
most other denominations) have you seen that if it wasn't for the women,
taking a role in the church, that church would have long been Gone?
This is true in many local oklahoma churches of all sorts and I would
suspect in the other states as well.
