Here's another example from my own experience, my wife has her
ministerial
license with the UPC, I do not, it's not that I wouldn't like to, and a
fellow saint said why not, it would come in handy, but I believe that
you
should only get a license if you feel a specific and definite call from
God
to the ministry, (I know we are all "ministers", but you know what I
mean),
I have not felt that specific call, if I do I'll follow it, but in the
mean
time I'll serve God however He sees fit to use me.
When I first met my wife-to-be she told me before we were married that
she
had a call on her life, (she had already been in church for almost 10
years,
and I had just been in the truth for about 6 months), and that she would
be
studying for her license, I told her I had no problem with that, God can
choose to use whomever He wants and that she had my full support and
confidence, we have now been married over 16 years, she has her license,
and right now she is the assistant pastor at the church we attend.
I'm not saying this just because she's my wife, but she is a very good
preacher, (and I've heard quite a few), and I have truely been
spiritually
nourished from the messages God has given her to preach.
We have a happy, stable marriage, she can accept my leadership in the
home,
and I have no problem with the leadership role God has placed her in the
church,
we are a team and work together to see God's will accomplished, maybe
one of
the reasons God choose us to be together is that God saw that I could be
secure in His will and not feel that my "masculinity" was being
threatened
or my male "ego" was being bruised.
Every member of the body is important, whether you're the hand, the
foot,
or the big toe :-) the bottom line is that lost souls are reached with
the
gospel, and however God chooses for that to be accomplished in any
particular
area is OK with me :-)
