I was thinking about the list last night and all the topics I seen discussed
here and I would like to hear others opinions on this one.~~The resurrection
~~~~~~~~~
Mat 27:52  And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which
slept arose,*
Mat 27:53  And came out of the graves after his resurrection*, and went into
the holy city, and appeared unto many.*
Mat 27:54  Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching
Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared
greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.
QUESTIONS
What I would like to point out is that the word of God says it is appointed
unto man once* to die and after that the judgment, so what happened to these
resurrected people?
They arose, it clearly said they came out of the graves and that lots of
people saw them.
Now when Jesus ascended up to Heaven where did these people go?
Is this the *First resurrection?
(I wouldnt have thought so by the description given in Revelation, But then
what wooould you call it? ) THey certainly arose!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rev 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years
were finished. ****This is the first resurrection.***
Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection:
on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and
of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
But if this is the first then what is the second? Why use a numeric
reference such as first if there is not more than one resurrection?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Statement
I was always taught that the above scripture reference (Rev. 20:5 & 6 )
referred to what is known as the milennium...?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Luke 14:14 And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for
thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.****
(resurrection of the JUST)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Luke 20:34  And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world
marry, and are given in marriage:
Luke 20:35  But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world,
and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in
marriage:
Luke 20:36  Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the
angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.
Luke 20:37  Now that the dead are raised,**** even Moses showed at the bush,
when he calleth the Lord the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the
God of Jacob.
*(PAST TENSE???......NOW that the dead ARE raised??, Is he speaking as if it
Has already happened??)
Luke 20:38  For he is not a God of the dead, but of the living: for all live
unto him.
(Or simply referring to their status spiritually, rather that
physically).............................
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
John 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the
resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of
damnation.

QUESTION
**********Ahhh, now HERE are Two resurrections......One for the good and one
for the evil, but that still does not answer my first question as to what
happened to those that arose when the veil was rent ???***************

John 11:24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the
resurrection at the last day.****
John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he
that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

QUESTION
**(here *Martha spoke of THE resurrection as being a one time thing which
would happen at the last day.....)
How do we have Saints arising from graves and making public appearances,
having Elijah ,& Moses appearing on the mount of transfiguration with Jesus
before the apostles.....and such if they are supposed to be asleep and
arise at the last day???)***
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
Acts 1:22  Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he
was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his
resurrection.
 (And here it speaks of the LORDs resurrection, which does not fit under the
description of the first resurrection in Rev. either, but is a resurrection)
*****The apostles teaching*****
Acts 4:2  Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through
Jesus *the resurrection from the dead.
Acts 4:33  And with great power gave the apostles witness of the
resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
Acts 24:15  And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that
there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.
Acts 24:21  Except it be for this one voice, that I cried standing among
them, Touching the resurrection of the dead I am called in question by you
this day.
*****SO< IT is good to know how to explain the resurrection for even Paul
was called upon to give an account of it.**
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rom 1:4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the
spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Rom 6:5  For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death,
we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
Rom 6:8  Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live
with him:
Rom 6:9  Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth*** no more;
death hath no more dominion over him.
Rom 6:10  For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth,
he liveth unto God.
QUESTION
***(Now this here in Romans seem to also verify that if you die once and God
raises you from the dead that death has no more dominion......So what of
those who definitely died and arose?  those at Jesus's resurrection, and
Lazarus?...who was dead several days, not just a few minutes? Is the day of
the Lord then an ongoing thing?......Continuing over  a period of time?
Like where the word says a day of the Lord is as a thousand days to
man?......
What of the rich man who died and went to HELL and lifted up his
eyes....ALREADY BEING IN TORMENT??
IN that passage it sounds as if he is already been raised to the
resurrection of damnationfor he is Already there. Certainly not in a
ignorant and blissful sleep.....)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1 Cor 15:42 So also is the *resurrection of the dead. It is sown in
corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
1 Cor 15:43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in
weakness; it is raised in power:
1 Cor 15:44 It is sown a *natural body; it is raised a *spiritual body.
There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

According to this scripture....I would think that ONCE you are raised from
the dead you then have your spiritual BODY and could not be subject unro
death again.....What think Ye?........IT would sound as all those old saints
who were raised were given their spiritual bodies doesnt it?
.....~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
2 Tim 2:18  Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the
resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.****NOT
BELOW****
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~
QUESTIONS
(NOW I DO NOT want to give the impression as being included with such as
talked about here in *2 Timothy 2:18.******...I am simply trying to
understand the steps involved here
....I still believe in a resurrection when the trump of God sounds, but
wonder how the rest of you explain those who have already been known to
arise......and exactly where are they now? Heaven? Paradise? A soul Sleep?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Heb 6:2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of
resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

CommentS*
THis is definitely something we should discuss and learn , be able to teach
and then go on to other things, so I am asking if you think you have and
understanding of the overall topic and can explain , answer the questions I
presented to share it with the rest of us.~~~~~~~~~~~~

Heb 11:35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were
tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a *****better
resurrection:******

1 Pet 3:21 The** like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us
(not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good
conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
1 Pet 3:22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels
and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.
COMMENT*
*If we follow his example ....then we to would go on to Heaven directly
whenever we are resurrected...right?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1 Th 4:16  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with
the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in
Christ shall rise first:
1 Th 4:17  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together
with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever
be with the Lord.
1 Th 4:18  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
~~~~~~~~~~~~BEING DEAD IS REFERRED TO AS BEING ASLEEP~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

John 11:13 Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had
spoken of taking of rest in sleep.*
John 11:14 Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.*

Acts 13:36 For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of
God, fell on sleep*, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:*

1 Cor 11:30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many
sleep.*

1 Cor 15:51 Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep*, but we
shall all be changed,*
1 Cor 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for
the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we
shall be changed.
1 Cor 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal
must put on immortality.
COMMENT
(THis definitely states that you get incorruptible body *when* you are
raised)

1 Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them
also which *sleep in Jesus will God bring**** with him.
COMMENT
(BRING???? WITH HIM?? , LIKE WHEN HE RETURNS to get the rest of us??Am I
seeing something here?)

1 Th 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which
are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them
which are asleep*.
1 Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with
the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in
Christ shall rise first:*

(Could the dead in Christ Already be arising after they die as a ongoing
process??)

1 Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together
with them* in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever
be with the Lord.

(Here they are already in the clouds with the Lord....)********

1 Th 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1 Th 5:10  Who died for us, that, whether we wake* or sleep*, we should live
together with him.
1 Th 5:11  Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another,
even as also ye do.
CLOSING>>>>>>>
(AND we know that either way........If we are IN Christ we will be with him
in the future, regardless of wether we are still alive , in the flesh... or
if our bodies have "gone to sleep")
I have wondered about these things....maybe some of you have some insight to
this???
God Bless,,
