Bro. Tyler:

the

Me:
Did I tell you all that my great grandfather was most probably black? Under
the "one drop colors the ocean" law, if this is true, I am a black man.
Now, to LOOK at me, I am REALLY WHITE. You know, most 'white' people are
kinda 'pinkish-orangish-peach' but I am WHITE! Funniest thing is that even
in this <contradiction of terms alert> politically correct world, I would
have to DECLARE my 'statis' to get any of the liberal's hearts to bleed for
ME. They would stand there and call me names and speak of how I 'oppress'
and the whole time not knowing that I am part of the ones they are out to
'help'.
Someone once asked if God had a sense of humor. Imagine if you will the
looks I get when they (whites and blacks) go on about racism and I look them
in the eye and tell them that *I* am most probably a 'black' man. Brings
the absurdity of the whole 'system' of prejudice to light.
Could you see me sitting down on the Ricky Lake show! THEY would say that I
am my own worst enemy! I'd fit right in...
Man invented racism to justify robbing and degrading others. I want no part
of it. I can't speak as to the offense of anyone on the list.
I hurts me to think of all the problems my Brothers and Sisters have had to
face because of their melonin. I hurts me more that, for a time, I
participated in this. I didn't know any better, I do now. I thank God that
He called me into 'mostly' black churches. It gives me a real chance to see
prejudice for what it really is: hateful inadequecy. God knew who to trust
with this added burden however.
I do understand prejudice and know that the only way to eliminate it is to
stop practicing it. I also know that one can certainly reduce the impact of
it in one's own life.
We are ALL prejudice: ALL OF US. The trick is to find these prejudices,
determine if they are bad prejudices, and then educate (through constant
exposure) the bad ones out of existance.
Racism exists. We must ALL deal with it. I must admit that I haven't
prefected this 'look at someone from the inside out' stuff yet, but God is
exposing the reasons I cling to *MY* own preconcieved ideas. They run way
past color BTW. Interesting thing is, that when you examine the reason you
hate another person, you have to first look at yourself...
