me: Is this an ABSOLUTE Bro. Tim??? I will concede
that women (at times) may tend to make choices 
based on emotions, but (at the risk of getting crude here,
please forgive me if I offend anyone) I know several
men who have made choices based solely on directives
from a part of their physical anatomy (located far below
the brain hemisphere). 
The intelligent (or as you said, "knowingly") choice
would have been to go home to the wife and kids,
instead of with another woman. No, I don't think men
choose "knowingly" AT ALL in these types of situations.
