Three "six" symbols in the bar-code is indeed an intriguing thought.
But according the EAN-13 standard (used wordwide), the three "check"
marks are two thin vertical stripes, while the "6" symbol is a "thin"
bar and a "fat" bar. Other bar code standards may use different
symbols, but EAN-13 is by far used by the majority of bar code users.

In any case, the EAN-13 standard specifies no symbols for "six-hundred"
nor one for "sixty," both of which are a part of six-hundred sixty six
in Rev 13 (chi-xi-zeta, NOT "zeta-zeta-zeta").

I've always like Bro Brown's hypothesis about the handheld cards with
the memorized PIN.

As Bro Litteral has pointed out to us, "six" can also be called
"stigma". A "stigma" is a mark. Did you know that devotees to Nero
branded themselves on the forehead or the hand to show their devotion
to NRON KRS?
