When I sat under Brother S G Morris at ABI of all the lessons I learned
one will always stay with me. Gospels, Acts and Epistles. as I read the
replies on HF to Women in the Bible, The Name in Acts 2:38 etc. it
becomes more appearent to me how few Apostolics adhere to the principals
of this great lesson. There appears to be little understanding of the
purpose of the Gospels, the Acts of the Apostles, and most of all the
Epistles. I wont pick on any body in particular because anyone who has
an interest can simply read the e-mail. Acts 2:36-39 gives a complete
list of definations pertaining to the formula for salvation, Which by
the way was clearly understood by the Jew who were there including of
course Mary the mother of Yehoshuha and the rest of the Apostles with
Peter. Anything written after the book of Acts is written to those
already immersed in the name of JESUS CHRIST. They understand the
meaning of the words in Acts 2:38 and how they apply both in the
congregation, and their future ministery yet to be fulfilled Acts 3:19.
Paul followed in another place speaking about rightly deviding the word
of truth, 2 Tim 2:15. All scripture is truth but when missapplied it
distorts G-d's intent. When someone quotes from an epistle to prove what
is already an established fact in Acts they show their lack of
understanding of the right order in the scripture. A good example is 1
Thes 5:17 where Paul tells them who to read the epistle to "I charge you
by the L-rd that this epistle be read unto all HOLY BRETHERN" Some adnit
they can't see the point! Could it be because they have been
assimilated? G-d forbid! Shalom!
