In a way the wrong question is being asked. Maybe it should be why do so
many congregations over spend? forcing them to get money they wouldn't
need if they did over spend. I like the home meeting concept, because
that the Bible way, rather then having a large building to support. Most
of these buildings are used spearingly. Like Sunday, Wednesday, some on
Thursday then it sits enty. What a waist. G-d set up a system to support
the minister. 1 Tim 5:18. In the time of the original Apostles they
attended the Temple Acts 3:1 this central structure is where the people
worshiped. For those to far from the Temple synagogues were built like
the one Yehoshuha attended and served in Luke 4:16. Yehoshuha did not
have to decide which synagogue to go to in Nazareth there was only ONE.
Peter and John did not have to decide what temple to go to there was
only ONE. The only religion that you could say uses their buildings
daily are the catholics who say and attend mass daily. In milwaukee and
Chicago they a closing the buildings in great number, Why because the
cost of up keep is more then the congregation can pay. So then if you
sell peanut brittle to people out side the congregation who's really
supporting the work of G-d, the saints of the sinners. The bottom line
is if you don't over spend you wont have to become a begger. The sin of
it all is when the saint sell to the sinner and after the producd is
gone what was the sinner benifit. Is the congregation then know as the
peanut brittle church? Think about it!!! I have held meeting in homes
for the past 35 years and have no intention of building any building for
the purpose of worship. or to change a worship service into a money
colecters paradise. or to use the saints to cover gross money
mismanagement. Shalom!
