The trouble with a newsgroup is that it is much harder to moderate,
and usually degenerates into spam and anarchy. Furthermore, Christian
newsgroups draw demonic spirits like flies. The legalities of a
newsgroup make it a true public forum, and so free speech issues come
up that are easier to control with a private mailing list. Also, with
only 200 or so subscribers, all that we could get is an alt.* group,
and these are the worst at drawing undesirables. Also, many
corporations do not carry alt groups on their internal news servers.

Never worry about an archive. We can still do that, and even if we
don't, DejaNews will index it and keep old postings for a while.

I just think we are in much better control with a mailing list.
