Bro. Kirk?
You need to think about what you said. If the Bible is written for time
periods, then lets get rid of Holiness, or standards, anything else that we
dont agree with.

Me:
I'm all for getting rid of "holiness standards" which are from men, I
prefer the "Standard of Holiness" in the Bible...

Just for laughs, imagine if you will, a man walking into a "namebrand"
church with a beard that has 'braids' in the corners, sandals on, a long
flowing robe and shawl about the shoulders wanting to deliver the evening
message. What kind of a reaction would He get TODAY?

Strange world we live in... In the days of Jesus they all walked around in
dresses, some made for men and dersses made for women. The DIFFERENCE then
was due to cut, and material and style (just like it still is today ;-). I
don't approve of women wearing MEN'S pants either, nor those things that
are MORE provacative than if they went around naked that are called women's
pants but the Bible doesn't SPEAK against WOMEN wearing WOMEN'S pants.
There IS NO Holy writ the DEFINES what 'pertaineth' to a man. If a man
TODAY wore the VERY clothes Jesus Himself wore THEN, He would be wearing
what is considered women's clothing HERE IN AMERICA.

John 7
24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
(KJV)

Let me say again, that if in your heart of hearts you agree with these
"holiness standards" and believe they are supported by the Bible, then for
YOU to not follow them is sin: for YOU.

As for me:

1Corinthians10
27: If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye be disposed
to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience
sake.

28: But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols,
eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth
is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof:

29: Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my
liberty judged of another man's conscience?

30: For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for
which I give thanks?

I will not let my liberty set you at naught, nor will I have that which God
has delivered unto me JUDGED by another.

Bro. Kirk:
If Paul wrote it for the saints then, its for us today.

Me:
1Timothy 5
23 Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and
thine often infirmities. (KJV)

You mean with or without context?

Bro. Kirk:
Lets not lessen or cheapen the Bible. Its the WORD of God. Lets keep it
intact

Me:
And rightly *divide* it at the same time. ;-)
